Last month, multiple reports coming out of Portugal discussed Liverpool and Arsenal interest in Sporting’s Nuno Mendes.
Manchester United have joined the two Premier League clubs in chasing the left-back, according to Calciomercato.it.
The report mainly focuses on Mendes being identified as a future transfer target for AC Milan.
Frederic Massara, the sporting director of the Serie A side, has ‘already set to work’ to bring young prospects to the club.
Mendes is included in their list, but it won’t be easy for the Rossoneri to sign the 18-year-old, either in January or next summer. That’s because the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and the Red Devils ‘are also on his trail’.
Calciomercato.it claims the youngster is considered as an ‘important’ player for the present and future.
Despite the interest from Milan and the English trio, Sporting have no intention of negotiating a fee to let the player leave the club in the near future.
Mendes’ current deal runs until 2025 and has a €45m release clause. The Portuguese side are demanding the full termination clause to be paid to sanction the player’s sale.
