A move to Liverpool would be ‘appealing’ for Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi, although the competition for places is a problem for the youngster.

That’s according to BILD journalists Tobias Altschäffl and Christian Falk, who say the Reds can provide competition to the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for the young star.

Adeyemi is one of the hottest young stars in Europe after a series of impressive performances for the Austrian side, as well as Germany.

Several top sides in Europe are all thought to be keen on his signature, including Liverpool,  who have been linked since 2019 and are still ‘in the running’ for his signature.

Recent reports have indicated that they were falling behind in the race as Bayern Munich were ‘considered one of the top favourites’ for the player’s signature.

However, according to Altschäffl and Falk on the latest episode of the Bayern Inside podcast, that has now changed.

They say he ‘tide has clearly turned’, and while Bayern are still trying to sign the youngster, other clubs are in pole position.

Borussia Dortmund, in particular, is going full throttle and pushing to sign the 19-year-old, while RB Leipzig also have hopes of winning the race. BVB, though, are out in front because Adeyemi’s best chances of regular playing time is with them.

Despite that, a move to Spain or England is ‘still possible’, and in terms of the latter, there is Liverpool.

They are ‘appealing’ to Adeyemi, and a call from Jurgen Klopp would make the young forward ‘think twice’ about his future.

The problem, and it’s the same at Bayern, is that the competition in Liverpool’s forward line is ‘too great’ for a young player like Adeyemi, who wants to be playing regularly to continue his development.

That’s going to be hard to get at Anfield with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and even Roberto Firmino already at the club.

Klopp, then, has work to do to convince Adeyemi otherwise, with Dortmund seemingly now at the front of the queue for his signature, simply because they can guarantee first-team football.
