Liverpool are one of the ‘interested parties’ in Hoffenheim defender David Raum after his impressive performances this season.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the 24-year-old has as many as six clubs ‘trying to sign him’ this summer.
Raum joined Hoffenheim on a free transfer from SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a free transfer last summer, and has hit the ground running in the Bundesliga this season, with three goals and 13 assists in 30 games so far.
He arrived as a ‘promising player’ but is now considered a star, and his performances have lined him up for a transfer.
The newspaper states he ‘will probably’ move to the Premier League this summer and has a release clause valued at €30m.
Five clubs in England are keen on him, and Liverpool are one of those said to be among the ‘interested parties’, courtesy of Jurgen Klopp.
Whether they’d pay €30m isn’t mentioned, although that seems unlikely given they’re well-stocked at left-back with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
Perhaps if one of those were to leave Liverpool this summer, the latter being more likely than the former, that would see the Reds ramp up their interest in Raum.
That’s a sizeable if at this point, but it seems those in charge are at least keeping an eye on Raum following his impressive debut season in the Bundesliga.
