Tomislav Sivić is a relieved man. That’s because Liverpool have allowed Marko Grujic to join up with Serbia’s U21 squad, albeit later than he would have usually.

Serbia’s U21 side are facing Norway in play-offs for the U21 European Championship, so it’s obviously an important international break for them. For Sivić to have the Liverpool youngster is a big boost, with Grujic being one of the stars and leaders of the team.

Serbia’s Blic report that Grujic didn’t join up with the rest of the squad on Monday, because he was kept back by his club Liverpool. That will have left Sivić fearing the worst, but instead Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have allowed Grujic to travel, after going through additional checks on an unspecified injury.

Norway travel to Serbia for the first leg on Friday, and it’ll be hoped Grujic starts. After that Serbia go to Norway for the return, and they will once again hope to count on the Liverpool player.
