Liverpool are one of the clubs to have looked at Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, according to Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.

The 17-year-old made his first team debut in 2023 and has starred for the La Liga side and Spain since last year.

Yamal impressed for La Roja in their Euro 2024 winning campaign and continued his fine form at Barca this season, managing 11 goals and 16 assists from 33 games so far.

His performances and potential have reportedly seen clubs, including Liverpool, take notice.

Mundo’s title says several clubs ‘continue dreaming’ about signing the winger. Real Madrid are one of them, but the Spain international has publicly stated he won’t join them. Yamal has said he will move outside La Liga if he decides to leave Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring him, while Premier League sides, ‘above all Liverpool’ are also in the mix.

The newspaper states the Reds pushed the most recently for the young attacker and also name Manchester City and Manchester United as interested parties.

These are clubs that are willing to take Yamal away from the Camp Nou, but it won’t be easy for them.

Another report from Mundo states Yamal’s agent Jorge Mendes has informed his suitors that he’s not for sale. The player’s plan is to sign a contract until 2030 at Barcelona.

Barca have earlier used the local media to drag in other clubs before they secure a player’s renewal. It won’t be surprising for them to use Mundo to drag Liverpool and others into the mix to create a hype around Yamal and make a renewal look even better.
