Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has been linked to Stade Rennais in recent days.
The Ligue 1 side have 39-year-old Steve Mandanda as their first-choice goalkeeper, and his deal lasts until next summer. This has seen the French club look for his possible successor in the market.
This is where Jeunes Footeux drags the Leeds United player into the mix, and they state Stade Rennais have their eyes on the 24-year-old and PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Walter Daniel Benítez.
The outlet mentions Meslier and Benítez after pointing out Stade Rennais manager Jorge Sampaoli has requested a new stopper in January.
An earlier report from Jeunes Footeux claimed that Sampaoli’s side have asked about the Whites man, but walked away from the idea after learning he’d cost €25m.
Meslier has kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 13 goals from 19 matches this season. He has just over 18 months left on his contract.
As it stands, the links around Meslier are very weak and even more leaning towards a negative stance on the goalkeeper.
