It disappeared as quickly as it appeared earlier this month, but Mathieu Debuchy to AS Saint-Etienne is back on, according to Le10 Sport.
The French website claim the Ligue 1 side ‘reactivated’ discussions with the player over the past few hours, as the (former?) France international continues to seek a way out from Arsenal.
With the Premier League club currently trying to finalise a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Olivier Giroud potentially heading to Chelsea, the 32-year-old’s case seems like one of the less important ones right now.
However, the French club are still keen on the Arsenal right-back, but will only be able to afford him if they manage to get rid of a few defenders already present at their club, one of which could be Paul Pogba’s brother, Florentin.
As things stand, Le10 Sport make it clear no deal is in place, just that talks are ongoing, but that everything is heading in the right direction.
There’s probably more to come on this, and there’s still a decent amount of time for everyone for Debuchy to join the likes of Paul-Georges Ntep and Seven Subotic at Saint-Etienne.
