Nice are looking to hijack Galatasaray’s bid to sign Stoke City midfielder Gianelli Imbula. The Frenchman could leave the Premier League side this summer after being frozen out by Mark Hughes last season.

L’Equipe have reported Nice are in talks to sign Imbula, and that the Ligue 1 side are confident they can get a deal done with Stoke City.

Nice are looking to sign the former Marseille player on loan, and are willing to pay a percentage of his Stoke City wage. A decision on whether the 24-year-old will return to France will be made in the coming days, according to L’Equipe.

Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray are also showing promising signs they can sign Imbula this summer.

The Turkish giants have been in talks with the player’s agent, and now it’s a case of convincing Stoke City to loan them the midfielder, with a right of redemption.

If Stoke City will allow a loan deal, Galatasaray officials will travel to England to hold official talks.
