The likelihood of Gerard Deulofeu continuing his career at Everton appears to be dwindling by the day, and a short queue of clubs is seemingly forming outside Goodison Park to try and convince the Spaniard to move to a different country.
Earlier on Tuesday, we covered an article in Tuttosport that stated the player’s ‘desire to leave Everton increases every day’, and with AC Milan interested in a loan deal, the opportunity to team up with Suso in Italy could be an appealing one.
Staying in southern Europe, La Provence on Tuesday also report an interest from Marseille in the Everton starlet, as Ronald Koeman’s reluctance to use him encourages on the ‘bullshit’ rumours he seems to dislike so much.
The French newspaper do however explain that, while both Deulofeu and Iker Muniain are targets for Marseille, a deal for the Spaniard would be difficult, mostly due to the AC Milan competition, with the player being ‘close’ to the Serie A side.
Whether they are going off Italian reports or their own information, we don’t know, but, despite not writing off the possibility just yet, it seems getting Deulofeu could be very difficult for the Ligue 1 club.
Of course, with Andoni Zubizarreta as their director of football, Marseille will try to use the 55-year-old to woo either player, as the former goalkeeper remains an icon at both Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona.
There’s only so much one man can do, though.
