Having sacked José Mourinho back in April, Tottenham Hotspur appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as his permanent successor on June 30th.
The former Wolves manager started his time at the north London club on a bright note, by winning the first three league matches.
Since then, Spurs have managed only two wins and suffered five defeats.
Nuno’s position at the club is under threat and Il Messaggero explain the latest loss ‘could prove fatal’ for him.
Daniel Levy held a long meeting with Fabio Paratici after the match. It’s claimed the former was ‘furious’ with the ‘heavy defeat’, which has left his side in eighth position.
Paratici has several names on his notebook to replace Nuno and Antonio Conte remains on top of that list.
The Italian, who rejected Spurs in the summer, could now change his mind if there is a huge offer. A lot will also depend on the Premier League side’s technical project and ambition. For now, Tottenham’s will to change managers is strong.
Over at Calciomercato.it, they say there are two obstacles for Conte to arrive in London.
The 52-year-old needs an ‘indispensable offer from a personal point of view and from the restructuring of the squad’. As per the report, ‘Levy is not willing to go along’ with the latter demand.
Levy not wanting to meet Conte’s technical demands would make it difficult for Spurs to appoint him as their new manager.
