Real Madrid are planning to replace Luka Modric and during the first half of the season, they have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen as a target, according to AS.

Saturday’s edition of the Spanish newspaper claims that Los Blancos’ interest in the 26-year-old reached Daniel Levy last October and the Spurs chairman did not take it well.

It is explained the north London club’s chief “got upset” when he heard about the Champions League winners’ movement to sign the former Ajax man.

The Premier League club ‘feels very threatened’ by the Spanish capital club as they are not only after Eriksen, but also looking at their star striker Harry Kane and manager Mauricio Pochettino.

AS reports that Eriksen could be one of the main targets for Real Madrid in the summer and a source close to the newspaper claims Levy “actually gets mad” at the thought.

It’s unlikely that Tottenham could lose Kane in the summer, while Eriksen could he heading towards the exit if he doesn’t sign an extension as he has less than 18 months left on his contract.
