Due to an injury, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro missed out on Brazil’s couple of friendlies during the international break.
It turns out that since the national team is now in a new cycle, with manager Dorival Junior having just arrived, there’s some people who think the 32-year-old shouldn’t even get back to the squad.
That was said by journalist Renato Maurício Prado, who’d been discussing Brazil’s team on UOL. In quotes brought by Torcedores, he claimed that there are some players who should not get a place there again, and the Manchester United midfielder is one of them.
“Better not, Juca. Leave that lot alone. Marquinhos, Casemiro, Thiago Silva… they’ve all gone. Leave them in the past. Let’s move on.”
Brazil did not have brilliant matches against England and Spain, but are testing a new midfield, with Premier League players João Gomes, Lucas Paquetá, Bruno Guimarães and Douglas Luiz all fighting for a place in that sector.
It’s fair to say that Casemiro isn’t having a great season at Manchester United either, and even though he once had a guaranteed spot in the national team, it now seems he’ll have to work hard to have a place there again.
