A little earlier we brought a positive update from Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet about Alexander Sorloth to Crystal Palace.

They’d spoken to to FC Midtjylland’s sport director Svend Graversen, who told them: “We are close to realising a unique opportunity for FC Midtjylland. We’re working hard and there is nothing official to report yet, and I can only repeat that we are very close to realising a unique opportunity.”

Importantly, it was also pointed out that whilst the Danish club were looking for a replacement it wasn’t a barrier to Sorloth completing his move to Crystal Palace.

However, another Danish newspaper, BT, have it slightly differently. They say there’s ‘no final green light’ on Sorloth moving to the Premier League club precisely because a replacement is needed first.

FC Midtjylland are working hard to bring someone in and have a few options (Seifedin Chabbi, Percy Tau, Svend Braken and Ohi Omoijuanfo) but there’s no deal agreed yet.

This is surely one FC Midtjylland won’t let slide away. It’s a great move for the player, and it’s great for them financially too, but whilst there’s no suggestion a deal is dying, this is presenting a little hold-up.
