Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann is fast pushing himself neatly behind the pairing of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as one of the very best footballers on the planet. Excellent at Euro 2016 for France, Griezmann made a country fall in love with him, as well as many followers from outside France.
Whilst we can’t all be French and have Griezmann playing for our national team, there’s a chance he could change clubs in the foreseeable future and so fans of the biggest sides hope he’s set to arrive at their chosen team.
French newspaper L’Equipe have a big feature on Girezmann in their Tuesday edition, and of course it’s packed full of praise for the player and his rise in prominence since being rejected by French clubs because he appeared too frail.
On his current path, it’s claimed Griezmann is set to follow in the footsteps of Zinedine Zidane, with a future Ballon d’Or win suggested.
L’Equipe say it’s no longer a case of if Griezmann will find a place at a top club, but rather a matter of when.
The clubs named are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Manchester United. For many that would be the list of Europe’s four biggest clubs, with perhaps Juventus also in the same group.
Griezmann has been linked with Manchester United repeatedly, and whilst the French newspaper don’t suggest they have inside information on that particular transfer, it’s a positive for the club’s fans that Old Trafford is seen as one of the possible destinations, for when Griezmann leaves Atletico Madrid.
