A few Aston Villa players are expected to leave the club this summer following their relegation to the Championship.
Jordan Amavi, Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Veretout and Jordan Ayew have been tipped to leave the club.
Reports in the English media suggest Everton have triggered Idrissa Gueye’s release clause of around £7m.
French newspaper L’Equipe on Friday confirmed Everton are interested in signing the player, and that Gueye is expected to leave Aston Villa this summer.
The Senegalese defensive midfielder signed for Aston Villa at the start of last season in a €9m deal from LOSC Lille, and couldn’t help the club avoid relegation.
Gueye played a key role for Aston Villa last season with him featuring in 35 league games.
The 26-year-old has another three years left on his contract at Villa Park, with the option to extend it for another year.
