It was probably Alexandre Lacazette’s turn to be thrown back into the Arsenal-need-to-sign-a-striker pit.
Linked repeatedly with Arsenal in recent years, Lacazette had a relatively poor start to last season, but managed to turn things hugely in the second half of the campaign.
However, that wasn’t enough to get him into Didier Deschamps’ Euro 2016 squad, so it may easy to argue that Lacazette couldn’t really be too much of an improvement on Olivier Giroud. It would depend which season, and which part of a season, each man was judged upon.
L’Equipe say that Lacazette is in no mood to be in the middle of a transfer circus, but he’s told Lyon of his desire to leave the club this summer. Arsenal and PSG are named as the clubs interested in getting a deal done, and it’s stated Lacazette would hope everyone comes to a straightforward agreement.
He clearly doesn’t want any hassle, but things rarely happen like that.
