Mathieu Debuchy still has an Arsenal contract until June 2019, but his value has plummeted over the past year or so due to being well out of the picture at the club and having some injury issues.
Loaning Debuchy out for the second half of the season would see him return still with 2 years left on his contract, and Arsenal would be in a good position to sell if the loan had been successful.
L’Equipe report on Friday that there’s a 75% chance of Debuchy getting a move in the January window. The player himself is stated as preferring a permanent transfer but he’d have to find a club offering a good deal for Arsenal.
The French newspaper believe this is a situation that ‘should be settled in the second half of January’.
