Noni Madueke was promoted to PSV Eindhoven’s senior team, a year after joining them from Tottenham Hotspur in 2018.
The forward has nine goals and eights assists in over 1,100 minutes of action played across 29 matches.
His form for Roger Schmidt’s side has attracted interest from Leicester City, according to Voetbal International.
It’s claimed the Foxes’ interest in the 19-year-old is ‘concrete’ and the Dutch club are aware of the interest generated by the young attacker.
The England U21 international has rejected the likes of Manchester United in the past, as he was ‘looking at his sporting development when mapping out his future’.
The same factor will once again be considered if he decides to leave PSV, with emphasis given to regular playing time.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are not the only ones chasing the teenager as VI explain several Champions League clubs from the top five leagues across Europe have asked about the player. His contract lasts until 2024 and he has a valuation of around €20m.
Schmidt is delighted with Madueke’s development this season and has backed him to be a regular starter at the club.
“He’s taken a step this season. He scored a lot of goals and provided a lot of assists, then he was injured longer, and the last two weeks I didn’t find him at his best in training,” Schmidt said.
“He was much better this week, so I’m looking forward to him showing his worth over the next few weeks. And we’re confident he can take the next step. Can he be a starting player next season? Yes, definitely.”
