It’s been just a week since the German media reported that Leicester City and West Ham United are both chasing the signing of Mainz defender Jeremiah St. Juste.

It was said that the Foxes and the Hammers are interested in the ‘fastest player in the Bundesliga’, even though there were not many details about the pursuit.

Now a little update comes from Portugal, where Sporting are working to sign St. Juste and are finding competition from Premier League sides.

Newspaper A Bola points out that while the Lions make an attempt to land the defender, he actually had approaches from Leicester City and West Ham as well.

It looks like Sporting were the first to move, as following the contacts in the January transfer window, they’re now said to be offering €7.5m for the transfer, and will try to get it done this month.

Since A Bola only refers to the ‘approaches’ from Leicester City and West Ham, it sounds like the Premier League sides are still in earlier stages of their chase.

Now if the Foxes and the Hammers really want the transfer, that should be quite a warning for them to start moving fast.
