Dennis Praet’s performances for Sampdoria convinced Leicester City to invest €20m in the summer of 2019.
The midfielder struggled with injuries and poor form last season, which restricted him to only 24 appearances across all competitions.
In order to revive his career, the 27-year-old joined Torino on a season-long loan deal in the summer.
After scoring the late winner in Belgium’s 1-0 win over Belarus in September, the Foxes owned player was delighted with the boost he received following the ‘difficult period’ he had at the King Power Stadium.
Martin Riha, the Belgium international’s agent, has now told CalcioNapoli24 that he hopes a return to Serie A will help Praet restart his career.
Praet missed Torino’s last three fixtures due to an injury and when asked about his client, the representative said: “How’s Dennis? Until he got hurt, he played well showing his qualities. I hope he can return as soon as possible, but returning to Italy also represents a chance for him to restart his career after Leicester.
“We looked for a solution during the summer, and the Italian championship for me is the tournament where he can express all his qualities.”
Torino take on Napoli later this weekend and it’s no surprise the Leicester man’s agent was quizzed if the Naples club ever had a chance to sign Praet.
“There was a talk about him before his transfer to Leicester. Napoli looked at him and were interested. I had the opportunity to discuss it with the club. There were no particular problems, Leicester were simply much more decisive in concretising [the deal],” Riha explained.
