Following Tony Pulis’ recent claims that West Brom had tried everything to sign Islam Slimani from Sporting CP last summer only to lose out to Leicester City and their Champions League pulling power, talk of a departure this summer has reappeared.
Even if the Foxes made the Algeria international their record purchase with a £30m bid late on in the transfer window, the 28-year-old hasn’t exactly set the world alight since arriving, scoring just eight goals in 25 appearances.
With West Brom clearly still interested, Le Buteur in Algeria have a look at their international striker’s situation at the King Power Stadium.
The website claim ‘specialised sites’ in England also report West Ham being interested (we can’t find them), but the bottom line is that Slimani isn’t for sale this summer.
According to their own sources, the Foxes aren’t prepared to let their big star signing go just a year after his arrival, even though money always talks in football, as they hint that an offer surpassing the one they made to purchase Slimani in the first place could see Leicester agree to a sale.
There’s a lot of ifs in there, and with the Foxes hitting the 40 point safe zone, it seems extremely unlikely that Craig Shakespeare would agree to such a deal.
