Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is continually in the Danish media at the moment. Understandably so, Schmeichel’s achievements with Leicester City have been widely and repeatedly covered in Denmark, and pride has been taken from it.
That’s led to many articles about Schmeichel leaving Leicester City at the end of the season, with some in the Danish media getting a little over-excited about possible destinations.
Any new teammates of Schmeichel’s may well have a struggle getting used to working with the goalkeeper, if comments from his Danish teammates hold any truth.
Asked to describe the Leicester player, the references from players published by Danish newspaper BT aren’t exactly glowing.
William Kvist believes Schmeichel has an opinion on everything and isn’t afraid to share it: “He’s impossible to argue with, yes. It may be politics, tax, England and Denmark. Why Danish society is how it is.”
Simon Kjaer added: “Black and white is probably a polite description. He can seem a little on another planet sometimes with his things. When he’s decided one thing, it’s the way it should be, and so it cannot really be discussed.”
The comments were shared in a friendly way and with some humour, but it seems the Leicester City goalkeeper has built himself a reputation with his Denmark teammates.
