Updates on the race for the signing of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga are bought today by Italian outlet Calciomercato.it.
Their report claims that following the player’s confirmation that he’s leaving his club this summer, there’s now a list of sides who could soon start contacts for his transfer.
That battle features the likes of Leicester City, Atalanta, Napoli, Lyon, Olympique Marseille and Villarreal.
All these clubs are expected to begin talks with Boga’s entourage over the course of the next week, while Sassuolo are set to demand something between €30m and €40m for his transfer.
The outlet gives most of its attention to Atalanta and Napoli, who are the clubs who could keep the winger in Serie A, but they also highlight the competition from Leicester City.
They say the Foxes are the ‘scary’ opponents ‘not only for the charm and attraction’ of the Premier League, but also because they are in a good financial condition to battle for the signing.
Boga has been linked to several English sides for the past year, so it’s interesting to see only Leicester City getting mentioned in this final stretch for his move, and he certainly the ‘young and exciting’ profile Brendan Rodgers looks for in his signings.
