While Leicester City have the ability to see off most suitors when it comes to their players, there will likely come a time when they will have to sell Ricardo Pereira.
The right-back is widely seen as one of the best in his role in the Premier League, and it’s no secret a number of big clubs around Europe have looked at the Portugal international.
It seems Leicester know this, as Sport/Foot in Belgium explain they’ve been looking at a potential replacement for Pereira in Timothy Castagne.
The 24-year-old currently plays for Atalanta in Serie A, and the magazine reveal he’s being looked at ‘from all across the continent’, with the ‘latest suitor to date’ being the club Youri Tielemans moved to for £40.5m last summer.
It’s claimed Leicester see Castagne as the ‘ideal replacement’ for Pereira, although they will have to wait for the Covid-19 situation in Bergamo to clear up before making any movement in that regard.
Since moving to Atalanta in 2017 from KRC Genk, the Belgian has made 82 appearances in all competition, scored eight goals and assisted another nine.
