Wesley Fofana made 24 appearances last season, picking up eight yellow cards and one red along the way.

The Saint Etienne defender has earned himself a growing list of admirers, and Monday’s edition of L’Equipe takes a look at the situation.

Red Bull Salzburg offered €4.5m last summer, which was rejected by the Ligue 1 club. AS Monaco and RB Leipzig tried in the winter market, with the latter offering €20m.

AC Milan have offered €18m following football’s re-start, and L’Equipe state Leicester City are ‘ready to outbid’ the competition.

The Foxes have already made an initial approach, which was unsuccessful, and it’s now stated Leicester could offer as much as €25m for Fofana.

Saint Etienne’s chairman wants to beat the €25m + €5m in bonuses deal which saw William Saliba move to Arsenal, however, L’Equipe think that’s unlikely given the ‘sluggish’ nature of the market this summer.

Leicester aren’t only up against Milan in this market, with it being stated Villarreal, Real Betis, Valencia and Sevilla are all keen, although it’s unlikely any of those would go as high as €25m.
