In the January transfer window, Leicester City signed Youri Tielemans on loan from AS Monaco.
As part of the transfer, the Foxes allowed Adrien Silva to move in the opposite direction on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
With three goals and four assists in 13 league appearances, the Belgium international impressed during his short spell at the King Power Stadium.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are keen on securing his services on a permanent deal in the summer, while there is also (at least reported) interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the midfielder.
Het Laatste Nieuws now claim the 22-year-old is no longer the first choice target for the Red Devils and Spurs, and the East Midlands club are pushing for his transfer.
Leicester are hopeful they can ‘quickly reach a deal’ with the French club for Tielemans, especially if Silva joins Monaco on a permanent deal. For the deal to take shape, the Foxes will have to break their club transfer record.
After a fine display in the second half of the 2018/19 season, the player’s desire was to continue with the English club, but interest from elsewhere made him wait for other options.
Tielamans, who has already revealed he is unlikely to return to Monaco, is currently on vacation and has not made a decision on his future yet. He remains hopeful of finding a solution soon.
