It seems that Rachid Ghezzal will finally be leaving Leicester City this summer, and he will be staying at Besiktas.
Loaned to the Turkish side for the past season, the Algeria international was the star of the show, scoring eight goals and collecting 18 assists throughout the campaign, which spurred his current side to seek a permanent deal.
They haven’t found an agreement with Leicester just yet, but his father, Mohamed Ghezzal, spoke to Fanatik on Monday and sounded fairly confident something would get done.
He also, in the process, revealed another offer from a club in Turkey, although not one his son would be considering.
He said: “My son is very happy in Besiktas. They will compete in the Champions League this season. Ghezzal will 100% continue his career at Besiktas. We expect the transfer to be completed in a short time.
“After my son’s performance this season, Galatasaray also made an offer to us”.
However, the Leicester player’s father went on to explain they did not accept the offer from the rival, and made it clear ‘it is very difficult for him to go to another team after this time’ at Besiktas.
So there you have it: it appears the Foxes will be able to cash in on Ghezzal soon, with all parties walking away happy.
