Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane has told the Italian media he’ll evaluate his future at the end of the season. Benalouane was frozen out by former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri, but has been getting games in recent weeks.
Speaking to TMW, Benalouane was asked whether he’s expecting to remain with Leicester City for next season.
The former Atalanta player said he’s only thinking about what happens now, but he’ll see what his position is in a couple of months. Benalouane confirmed he’s happy at the moment with the Premier League side because Craig Shakespeare has given him renewed confidence.
“I’m thinking only about the present, I am working hard, the coach is giving me confidence and I’m getting on the pitch. We’ll see how the season ends, I’m fine here and I hope to grow,” said the Leicester City player.
Benalouane signed from Atalanta last season, but has only played a handful of games for the club. Due to a recent injury to Wes Morgan the Frenchman was recalled by Shakespeare, and last night he deputised for suspended Robert Hugh during the draw with Atletico Madrid.
