It was also reported Claudio Ranieri has given his approval for the transfer, and only economic details with the midfielder needed sorting.

TuttoMercatoWeb once again talk about the Serie A side’s interest, and they state that signing the Foxes player is ‘one of the great goals’ of Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero.

According to the report, the Italian club also have a detailed understanding both with Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Portugal international.

Any approach from Sampdoria in signing Silva will see them face competition from Genoa, who have made a ‘surprise entry’ in chasing the former Sporting man.

TMW state Genoa are planning to overtake their league rivals to secure the Leicester midfielder’s services.

Them providing competition to Sampdoria would come as a welcome boost for the Premier League club, who are looking to offload Silva in the ongoing window.
