Leicester City are not yet out of the race for Juventus youngster Matias Soulé, despite Roma having now made a bid for him.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who report that Juventus still value selling the player to England and getting more money for him.

The newspaper reports that Soulé finds himself at the center of a ‘sensational’ transfer negotiation with Roma, who have been urged to make a move for him by manager Daniele de Rossi.

They’ve now submitted a €30m offer for the player, a figure that is very close to the €35-40m requested by Juventus director of football Cristiano Giuntoli.

The player, for his part, has already given his consent to the transfer, knowing he will be placed at the centre of an ambitious sporting project. The move would also allow him to play alongside compatriot Paulo Dybala.

A move to Rome is not finalised, though, and Leicester still have a chance after making ‘advances’ towards the player over the past week.

While Roma’s offer is valued, Juventus continue to prefer ‘the English option’ because they believe Leicester, or indeed another Premier League side, can make a more robust offer for the player and closer to the €40m they want.

Thus, they’d be more than open to Leicester making a bid and trying to trump Roma, who now appear to be out in front.
