Last month, Het Laatste Nieuws explained that Leicester City are ‘charmed’ by Charles De Ketelaere and the Club Brugge star is ‘in their sights’ for the summer window.
Newcastle United are also in the mix and the Magpies have become another Premier League side to join the Foxes in the chase for the 21-year-old.
The forward has impressed for the Jupiler Pro League side this season, scoring 16 goals and registering nine assists from 40 appearances in all competitions.
His current deal runs down in 2024, but reports have indicated the Belgium international could change clubs in the summer. Club Brugge, for their part, have set their price tag at €40m.
That’s what Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims, and when discussing his suitors, both Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Magpies are named.
“Milan like him and also Napoli. For the Rossoneri, he is the perfect profile, but Brugge are asking for €40m. He is not a priority for Milan, and on him, there are Leicester and Newcastle,” Tavolieri told Calciomercato.it’s CMIT TV.
With AC Milan not having De Ketelaere high on their target list, Leicester and Newcastle could move for the attacker in the summer. The two English clubs would also be in a better position to pay Club Brugge’s €40m demand than their Serie A counterparts.
