One of the stories picking up some pace around Leicester City ahead of the January transfer market is that of Dennis Praet and a return to Torino.
The Belgian midfielder was loaned to the Italian side over the course of the previous campaign as he didn’t feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans at the King Power Stadium, and it went well… when he was fit.
Praet had some great performances when he wasn’t injured, but his inability to consistently be available meant Torino weren’t sure about paying the €15m option to buy, and tried to negotiate it down.
Leicester refused, which led to the player eventually returning to England and staying there beyond the summer, where he has made a handful of appearances since.
It’s still not enough to warrant him remaining with the Foxes long-term, which is why Torino are sniffing around once again, with claims from Italy on Monday suggesting a move back to Serie A is becoming more and more likely.
For that, though, Leicester need to be open to negotiations, and as Tuttosport put it on Tuesday, relayed by Torino Granata, ‘need to set a price’.
It’s pointed out the player ‘would be happy to return to Torino’, and it would be far less costly to sign him in January than it was last summer.
With a contract expiring in 2024, this could be one of the final chances to cash in for the Foxes, but the question remains how much? ‘Under €5m?’
That’s quite hopeful from Tuttosport.
