Not a part of Claude Puel’s plans for Leicester City this season, Islam Slimani, after a lot of rumours, ended up going on loan to Fenerbahce in Turkey.

So far, the 30-year-old has scored three goals in nine appearances, including two in two in the Europa League, and things were looking up.

However, it appears the Leicester loanee is now expected to miss some time, as he’s suffering from a thigh injury picked up by the Algeria national team doctor ahead of their game against Benin, according to Le Buteur.

That being said, it doesn’t appear to be that serious, as there’s a good chance he should be able to play on October 16th for the return game, as the two sides play twice in the space of four days.

The Leicester forward is expected to be replace by one of Oussama Derfelou, Ishak Belfodil or Baghdad Bounedjah.

Despite arriving at King Power Stadium for a club record fee, Slimani only made 46 appearances in two seasons, most of which have come from the bench, but still managed to score 13 goals.

He might not fit Puel’s plans, but no one can deny his ability for finding the back of the net.
