As you know, Ozan Kabak was not bought by Liverpool following a loan spell during the second half of last season.

The Schalke 04 defender had a rollercoaster of a time with the Reds, but with Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez returning plus the signing of Ibrahima Konaté, there was no need to make the move permanent.

That decision, however, has opened the door for other clubs who like what the centre-back has to offer, including Leicester City.

The Foxes seem to be on the lookout for a new defender to go alongside last season’s revelation Wesley Fofana, and while they have the likes of Calgary Soyuncu, Jonny Evens and a returning Filip Benkovic, Brendan Rodgers wants an extra body.

That could be Kabak, with Sport1 reporter Patrick Berger taking to Twitter to explain that Schalke have given the defender ‘one more week off to clarify his future’, with Leicester City ‘leading the race to land the 21-year-old’.

Despite this, the Foxes haven’t made an official move for the player, which their sports director Rouven Schröder revealed.

As for their asking price? €15m, which is very affordable for a Premier League club in this day and age.
