Ben Chilwell was Leicester City’s first choice left-back last season and the Foxes need to bring in a replacement for the England international, after selling him to Chelsea last week.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Brendan Rodgers’ side are pushing for the signing of Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne.
The Belgium international has a year left on his contract and it’s claimed his transfer could be completed for €20m plus bonuses. The final negotiations for the 24-year-old’s signing have been ongoing between the two clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur also showed interest in the fullback, but Leicester’s interest is ‘very concrete’.
HLN state Rodgers’ side would prefer to seal the defender’s transfer before Tuesday.
RTBF in Belgium have also backed-up Leicester’s interest in the player. They state PSG were a serious contender to sign him, but Castagne’s priority was to play in the Premier League next season.
Castagne will join his compatriots Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet at the King Power Stadium, if the transfer is completed.
