Seeing Christophe Galtier lured by the prospect of managing Paris Saint-Germain, OGC Nice parted ways with him and brought back Lucien Favre.
Doing so means a few players won’t fit in how the Swiss manager wants to play, with Kasper Dolberg seemingly one of them.
One man’s discarded striker could be another’s gain, however, as Leicester City appear interested in the Dane.
That’s according to Media Foot in France, who claim the Foxes have been monitoring the forward ‘for a number of months’, and ‘don’t exclude an offensive this summer’.
‘Regularly observed’ last year, the 24-year-old retains a ‘good value on the transfer market’, especially since he’s contracted in the south of France until 2024, but that shouldn’t put off Leicester.
The issue is how much money Brendan Rodgers’ side would be willing to put on the table for Dolberg, who scored seven goals in 30 appearances last year.
This falls in line with a report from Foot Mercato on Friday that suggested Nice are planning to offload a few players, including Dolberg, who ‘lost some of his superb’ last season.
Perhaps this is something Leicester can use to their advantage in negotiations, especially if they have a plan to get the best out of him at King Power Stadium.
