Nampalys Mendy has been repeatedly linked with a reunion with Claudio Ranieri at Leicester City, and according to latest reports the Foxes closing in on the French international.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Mendy is set to fly to England tomorrow to complete his transfer with the Premier League champions.

L’Equipe say a deal is ‘very close’, and Ranieri has finally got his wish.

It’s been reported Leicester tried to sign the Frenchman last summer, and with his contract at OGC Nice expiring at the end of next season a transfer this summer was always likely.

West Ham reportedly made a bid of €15m, but it now seems Mendy has been granted his wish to sign for the Premier League champions by heading to the Foxes.

The 23-year-old has been in outstanding form last season for Nice, and he featured in all 38 league games for the Ligue 1 club.
