Slowly but surely N’Zonzi built up his importance under Sevilla manager Unai Emery, but when he left to join PSG, it was another new start for the French midfielder.

Jorge Sampaoli took the job, and if anything he’s depended upon N’Zonzi even more, with the midfielder a solid basis the Argentine manager can build the rest of his team upon.

Marca say that there was transfer interest over the summer, with Leicester City and Juventus specifically mentioned. The Spanish newspaper says the champions of England and Italy were told that if they wanted N’Zonzi the cost would be €30m.

That’s the value of the 27 year old’s buyout clause, but if he continues to develop in Spain then Sevilla may feel they need to offer a new contract in the hope of taking that figure higher.
