Caglar Soyuncu has reportedly been on the verge of joining several Premier League clubs over the past few months. There’s been strong sounding Turkish claims about imminent transfers for big fees.
Soyuncu doesn’t play in Turkey any longer, he’s at Freiburg, but the information appears to have been coming from Altınordu’s interest in the case.
The defender’s former club are said to receive a big chunk of any transfer fee, and it seems that whenever they get the hint a deal may happen it’s straight to the Turkish press they go.
This has happened several times, so when it was claimed Soyuncu was on the verge of joining Leicester City it was correct to have caution, especially with no German media outlets going strong on the story.
Well, now Kicker say the player’s transfer to Leicester is imminent, and they point out it’s according to their own information.
Kicker believe Freiburg will be getting around €20m. In Turkey it was reported the fee is €26m and Altınordu are getting €6m, so those figures fit together neatly.
Only the ‘very last details’ are being sorted.
