We’ve got a bit of a weird one today, as we’re 90% sure this is all based on a small mistake by Mundo Deportivo, but Leicester City could apparently be a landing spot for Milan striker André Silva.
Currently loaned to Sevilla, where he started the season in fantastic form, the Portuguese forward has majorly struggled to find the back of the net in the second half of the campaign, and there are doubts about his future.
The La Liga side are unlikely to spend close to €40m on the 23-year-old, meaning he will return to Italy where there appears to be no place for him in Gennaro Gattuso’s plans.
With all this in mind, his agent, a certain Jorge Mendes, will need to find his client a new club in the next few months, and the standard options of Valencia and Monaco, two clubs he has a lot of influence over, are stated by Mundo Deportivo.
The other club mentioned, as you might have guessed from the intro, are Leicester City.
Normally, Wolverhampton Wanderers would be the third name on that easy list of clubs to throw in any article involving a Jorge Mendes client, but they haven’t.
Why? We’re not sure.
Either they got Leicester City and Wolves confused, which seems a tad strange seeing as they sound nothing alike, or they got their Silvas mixed up, as we all know the Foxes own a player called Adrien Silva, currently on loan at Monaco.
That seems like the most logical explanation, as we doubt the Premier League side are looking to spend €30m+ on a goalscorer who hasn’t done his titular job properly for the best part of six months (two league goals since October).
We’ll keep an eye out for any other mentions of Brendan Rodgers’ club and the Portuguese striker going forward, but we won’t be holding our breaths, and neither should you.
