It perhaps won’t come as a shock, but Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans will not be moving from the King Power Stadium in the final hours of the transfer window.

The Belgian was widely linked with an exit from Brendan Rodgers’ squad throughout the summer, with big clubs reportedly keen to sign him.

However, there was nowhere as much insistence for him as for Wesley Fofana, for example, meaning Leicester were relatively calm about it all.

Now, a few hours before the transfer deadline, journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to make it clear the player will ‘stay at Leicester City’.

He then adds the Foxes star ‘wants to perform’ in the Premier League and during the Qatar World Cup so that he can ‘open more possibilities’ for the January transfer window.

Arsenal are mentioned, with it said they ‘never made the bid expected’ by Leicester City, while La Liga sides who were keen weren’t able to meet the demands set by those above Rodgers.

Either way, the Foxes keep their man for at least another four months or so, which will be a relief for their manager as he tries to turn things around after a rather poor start to the campaign.
