The break in football at Euro 2016 has provided opportunity for agents, clubs and players to dive head first into the transfer window for a couple of days. The European press is absolutely packed full of claims on Wednesday, even more so than usual.
Spanish newspaper Marca, being Real Madrid leaning, could have chosen one of a number of players to grace their front page. Eden Hazard is being linked again after his good performance for Belgium, and Paul Pogba is always a story which could explode at any minute.
However, it’s Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante who is on the front page of Marca today. Kante is said to be a ‘priority request’ of Zinedine Zidane to strengthen the squad for next season.
Whilst Marca state that Kante doesn’t fit the Florentino Perez Galactico profile, they also state he’d only cost around €25m, so has to be financially attractive.
Kante meets all the requirements Zidane is looking for, and the midfielder may well be the star who leaves Leicester City, with Jamie Vardy staying, and Riyad Mahrez stories not exactly widespread right now.
