According to Haber Global’s Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Leicester City scouts travelled to Trabzon at the weekend to watch Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi in action against Trabzonspor.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League and it’s likely they will be looking to strengthen their squad in the summer, with Muriqi said to be one of the players they are currently looking at.

The Kosovan striker didn’t have the best of games against Fenerbahce’s arch-rivals, however he showed glimpses of what he can do during Fener’s 2-1 defeat to Trabzonspor.

Leicester City scouts previously watched Muriqi against Besiktas last year and they could follow their interest with a bid in the summer.

Fener find themselves in in a tricky financial situation and the Turkish club may be tempted to sell Muriqi in the summer.

The 25 year old has scored 13 goals for Fenerbahce this season and is under contract at the Super Lig club until June 2023.
