Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers told the press on Friday that he’s looking to keep Wesley Fofana at the club, given the importance the player has in the squad.

However, the French media had already been talking about Chelsea’s attempt to sign the defender, with reports claiming the Blues were ‘close to completing’ the signing.

We covered Media Foot saying that following bids of €70m and €85m, there were just ‘a few details’ for the Stamford Bridge side to clear up tp sign him from Leicester City.

Now as we see Foot Mercato featuring an update on the situation, they claim that the Foxes are indeed allowing the player to leave, and already told Chelsea the price for his transfer.

It’s said Leicester City now demand €95m for the sale, and talks with intermediaries ‘should intensify this weekend’.

Foot Mercato claim that the Foxes are finally ‘starting to open the door’ for Fofana’s departure, pointing out that the player already has a personal agreement with Chelsea, who must now match the price demanded by Brendan Rodgers’ side.
