Fotospor report Leicester City scout Lee Congerton monitored Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as the club beat Fenerbahce 2-1 at the weekend.
Cakir made eight saves during his side’s victory and Fotospor report his performance impressed the Leicester City official.
It’s claimed Congerton met with Trabzonspor assistant manager Eddie Newton after the game, and the former Chelsea man reportedly said Cakir is one of the best goalkeepers he’s ever seen for his age.
Fotospor also add Leicester will continue to monitor Cakir’s performances until the end of the season and could make a bid for the 23 year old next summer.
Brendan Rodgers currently has Kasper Schmeichel as his first-choice, but the Foxes could bring in a keeper who could compete with the Dane for the No.1 spot.
Cakir signed a new deal with Trabzonspor towards the end of last season and is under contract with the Super Lig club until June 2024.
