Leicester City and Nice have found an agreement for the transfer of Kasper Schmeichel, according to reports from France.

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna writes there’s a deal between the clubs for the move to be made for €1m plus performance bonuses.

The report claims there are now final details to be sorted between Nice and Schmeichel, who’s demanding a three-year contract from the Ligue 1 side.

According to Aouna, once those issues are sorted, the Leicester City goalkeeper is set to have his medical with his next club ‘within the week’.

The talks between Schmeichel and Nice had been reported by the French media last week, with L’Equipe claiming the player had already given the green light for the transfer, and the Foxes just wanted to sort out a replacement before letting him go.

Leicester City have recently been linked to Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos and Napoli’s Alex Meret. Now with the club legend looking ready to leave, perhaps the club already have advanced talks for a new goalkeeper to arrive.

Schmeichel is set to leave the Foxes after 11 years, with 478 appearances made and one heroic Premier League title in his résumé.
