Demarai Gray’s potential move to Bayer Leverkusen has been covered repeatedly by the German sport media over the past couple of weeks. With his Leicester City contract expiring at the end of June, Gray has been free to speak to interested parties about a summer move.
That would have been on a free transfer basis, but Bayer Leverkusen wanted to secure the Foxes player in the current window so he can help them for the remainder of the season.
Multiple claims came of Bayer and Leicester struggling to agree on price, with it stated the Premier League side wanted around €3m, with the Bundesliga club wanting to part with €2m.
Sky Germany now report a deal has been agreed between the two sides, which will see, unsurprisingly, Bayer Leverkusen pay €2-3m, so it would appear the difference between the two stances has been made up via bonuses.
Gray is said to have already travelled to Germany to complete his medical tests, and an official announcement is expected today.
