The good thing about the delay in Adrien Silva’s move to Leicester City is that the player can take all the time he wants to make his farewell from Sporting CP.
It took fifteen days for him to make an Instagram post thanking the Sporting fans for their support during his years at the club.
Now one month after the transfer to the Premier League was made official, the midfielder is still saying goodbye to the Lions, and was present at the Estádio de Alvalade this Sunday.
Sporting played Porto for the sixth fixture of the Portuguese league, and as reported by O Jogo, Leicester City’s Adrien has made a visit to the ground and was honoured by the club.
After watching the first half of the game, he was called to the pitch, with the digital boards showing a message saying ‘Thank you, captain Adrien Silva’.
Then the player was presented with a shirt with the number 241 on the back, which is the number of appearances he made for the club, and made a little speech along with his family.
“It’s very good to be back and I have no words to express what I lived in these 15 years. I fulfilled the dream to step on this ground and made it to the club of my heart.
“I will always be at your side to defend our crest. I know this is my home as well.”
The player is still waiting for the green light to be able to play for Leicester City, as FIFA still did not accept the transfer because of the delay in the registration.
