Turkey were picked out as a potential underrated side by many, as Euro 2020 approached. Since the actual tournament started, however, they haven’t done anything to justify that.
Losing 3-0 to Italy in the opening match of the tournament, the country went on to lose 2-0 to Wales. Conceding five goals across the first two matches isn’t a great reference for their defenders, but that hasn’t stopped transfer rumours.
AS report, via their Turkish correspondent, that Caglar Soyuncu is a ‘real goal’ of Barcelona. The Leicester City player is said to resemble Barca legend Carles Puyol in his playing style, which would of course be attractive to those in charge at the Camp Nou.
According to the report, the player’s agents haven’t hidden interest from Barcelona, and there’s an insistence the Leicester man is a real option for Ronald Koeman’s side.
This isn’t something which has been reported anywhere near concretely in the Catalan media, and, even if the interest exists, it’s unlikely Barcelona would be willing, or even able, to match the figures Leicester City would want for the defender.
