Sevilla could consider signing Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré in the winter market.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who state the midfielder’s situation at Leicester makes him an ‘interesting opportunity’ for the La Liga side.
Leicester let the 25-year-old spend last season on loan at Sevilla. He was a regular at the Spanish club, making 34 appearances in all competitions.
The Andalusian club had an option to buy set at €15m but didn’t exercise it due to their financial conditions. This saw the Frenchman return to the King Power Stadium, where Steve Cooper was appointed as manager in the summer.
He came off the bench for the last 11 minutes in the Foxes’ 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on August 19th. Since then, the player hasn’t featured in the Premier League.
If Soumaré’s situation doesn’t improve in the coming months, he could look for a way out in January.
This scenario is interesting for García Pimienta’s side. Should this happen, the report says Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta could request to sign him on a loan deal in the next window.
Estadio Deportivo also cover his situation at Leicester and add that he’s ‘in the running’ to return to Sevilla on loan.
